When using CXD, you can skip setting up or configuring the SMDR output on the 3CX phone system. CXD functions independently and relies on live events to provide all the necessary information for its operation, resulting in enhanced call logs.

This is beneficial as it overcomes the limitations on data output found in the native CDR when using the standard Active or Listening connection .

 With this connection, an additional third-party piece of software (CXD; made by Tri-Line) needs to be installed on a local PC or on the 3CX server. This will pull in more verbose events allowing you to obtain detailed call records as well as live events.

Installing CXD

To access CXD, you will need to be downloaded download it from our Gateway site. There Please note that there are two installations available, installation options available: one for Windows and another for Linux. The correct installation will be required depending depend on whether it is to be installed on a local server or 3CX.

  • IP address of the 3CX phone system
  • Primary/route account username (SSH access)
  • Password for Primary account

When using CXD, there is no need to configure the SMDR (Station Message Detail Recording) output on the 3CX when using CXD.phone system. CXD operates independently and does not rely on or require SMDR configurations to function effectively. It provides the necessary information and data for its own operation, simplifying the setup process and removing the need for additional SMDR configurations.

Configuring TIM

  1. To add a site, click on the 'Directory' tab.
  2. Select PBX
  3. Select '3CX Events' from the PBX drop-down list.
  4. Select 'CXD' as the connection method.
  5. Fill in the host, port and password details as shown below;
