<p>These instructions should assist in configuring your BT Pathway to
work with TIM Enterprise. If you are not familiar with PBX
configuration, please contact your system maintainer.</p>

The BT Pathway sends SMDR information via a serial connection. The BT Pathway has a SMDR/V24 port on the base motherboard. The connection itself is RJ11 and you will need to purchase a
V24/SMDR module from your system supplier/maintainer.

<p>You will need to directly connect a serial cable from the V24/SMDR module to the PC that NetPBX is installed and running on.</p>
<h2>Configuring your SMDR</h2>
<p>To receive SMDR information from the BT Pathway you will
need to have a BT SystemPhone. You will need to be familiar with
programming via the BT SystemPhone. To enable the SMDR output follow
the below steps:</p>
<ol>
<li>From the programming position, press the phone set up key <span class="keyword">P</span> and select <span class="button no_margin">System programming</span>.</li>
<li>Enter the PIN and select <span class="button no_margin">System</span>.</li>
<li>Select <span class="button no_margin">Call logging</span> and choose <span class="button no_margin">Call logging on</span>.</li>
<li>Press <span class="button no_margin">HANDSFREE/MONITOR</span> to finish.</li>
</ol>
<h2>Configuring TIM Enterprise</h2>
<p>Below you will find steps on how to configure TIM Enterprise to listen for SMDR data from your BT Pathway:</p>
<ol>
<li>Browse to TIM Enterprise as normal and login with your credentials.</li>
<li>Click on the <span class="button no_margin">Directory</span> tab.</li>
<li>Go the the point in the Directory where you need to add the PBX Object and add a PBX with the name 'BT Pathway'.</li>
<li>Left-click on it and select <span class="button no_margin">Properties</span>.</li>
<li>From the <span class="button no_margin">General</span> settings tab select <span class="keyword">BT Pathway</span> from the PBX model list.</li>

<li>In the <span class="button no_margin">Connection</span> tab select <span class="keyword">No connection required</span> from the <span class="reference">Connection method</span> list.</li>
<li>Finally, click on the <span class="button no_margin">Save</span> button.</li>

Configuring your SMDR output
To receive SMDR data from your BT Pathway you need to have a BT System Phone and be familiar with how to use it to perform system programming. To enable SMDR output, follow the steps below:
- From the programming position, press the phone setup key P and select System programming.
- Enter the PIN and select System.
- Select Call logging and choose Call logging on.
- Press HANDSFREE/MONITOR to finish.

Installing NetPBX
The BT Pathway phone system transmits SMDR information via a serial connection. To collect the data from the serial port and send it to TIM Enterprise, you first need to install the netpbx software. For setup instructions, click on the link below:

Configuring TIM Enterprise
Once NetPBX is configured and collecting data, log in to TIM Enterprise and perform the following steps:
- Click on the Directory tab.
- Locate the PBX object you want to configure in the Directory, right-click on it and select Properties.
- A new window will open, displaying the general properties of your PBX object. Select BT Pathway from the Data format list and tick the

- Click on the Connection tab and select No connection required from the Connection method list.
