Overview
A channel is the entity object created in the system to embody each of Channels are system objects representing your telephone lines. The channels will populate the Directory automatically as soon as they are being used and by default are added into folder called Discovered channels.
Each individual channel object When you first configure TIM Plus, your channels are automatically harvested from the data received from the phone system, into a folder named Discovered Channels. The properties of each channel can be edited afterwards, moved into a different group and if required, you are also given the option to add channels within the system manuallyand channels can also be organised subsequently into new channel groups, if preferred.

Finding a channel
To search for locate a channel within the system and see in which folder it is locatedin the Directory, select the tab and then click on the button on at the top-right corner of the Contents panel, as shown below:

A In the new window will pop-up. Enter that opens, enter the name /number of the channel or ID of the channel you are looking for, then press click on the button. The search results will appear in the same window, as shown below:

Before adding a new channel in to the system, search the Directory for the channel number you want to add, to ensure the channel check that it doesn't already exist already , by searching for it in the system and you are not creating any duplicationsDirectory. |
To manually add a new channel to the system, click on the tab and select the site and the channel group where you want to create the new entitychannel to be added, then click on the button on at the top-right corner of the Contents panel. The example below shows a new channel being added in the London Main ISD:

Editing a channel's properties
To edit the properties of a channel's properties, locate the entity in the Directory and click on it to select it. Once the channel is highlighted in gray as shown below, select it and click on the button on at the top-right corner of the Contents panel:

A new window will appear open, allowing you to edit the general properties for that of the channel. Overtype any details you would like to change, as shown here:Click to apply the changes.

Moving a channel between two groups
If you need Follow the steps below to move a channel from one group to another, follow the instructions below.
- Find the Click on the tab and select the group which contains the channel you would like want to move over to the new group, and tick the box next to .
- Select the channel, by ticking the box alongside it. The top-left panel of the screen will temporarily change to the a Move items panel and containing the channel(s) you've ticked will be copied hereselected channel.
