These instructions help you configure your Siemens OpenOffice phone system to work with TIM Plus. Contact your system maintainer if you are not familiar with the configuration of your PBX.

  TIM Plus establishes a DSN connection with this PBX.

Configuring your SMDR output

The Siemens OpenOffice doesn't have the SMDR output enabled by default. Please contact your phone maintainer to enable the data output for incoming, outgoing and internal calls.

Setting up a DSN connection

To enable TIM Plus to work with the Siemens OpenOffice, you first need to set up a DSN connection. Below you will find instructions on how to do this within Microsoft Windows:

  1. Click on Windows Start.
  2. Click on Control panel.
  3. Double click on Administrative tools icon.
  4. Double click on Data Sources (ODBC) icon.
  5. Click on the System DSN tab.
  6. Click on the Add button.
  7. Select Native from the list and click Finish.
  8. In the Data source name field enter the following: Siemens OpenOffice.
  9. Click on the OK button and then again to close the window.

The Siemens OpenOffice connection shoud now be displayed in the System DSN list.

Configuring TIM Plus

Once the DSN connection has been setup, log on to TIM Plus as usual and apply the following settings:

  1. Click on the Directory tab.
  2. Select the site configured during the setup wizard and click on Properties.

  3. Within the Site Properties window, select Siemens OpenOffice from the PBX model drop-down list.
  4. In the Connection method field, select Connect to a system DSN from the drop-down list.
  5. In the DSN name field, select Siemens OpenOffice from the drop-down list.
  6. In the Frequency field, enter in 5.
  7. In the DB script field, select Siemens OpenOffice from the drop-down list.
  8. Click on the Save button to apply the settings.
