These instructions should assist in configuring your Cisco UCME / UC500 to work with TIM Plus. If you are not familiar with PBX configuration, please contact your system maintainer.
There are two ways to connect to the Cisco UCME / UC500: |
RADIUS configuration for Cisco UCME / UC500
The tasks required to be done are as follows. They are all analysed in details further down this page.
- Download TIM Plus and complete setup wizard
- Configure TIM Plus to receive data from UCME
- Configure Cisco Sync
- Set up RADIUS to send call events to TIM Plus
1. Downloading TIM Plus and completing the setup wizard
- Visit Tri-Line's Portal and download the TIM Plus installation package, as shown below:
- Run the installation package and on Stage 5 complete the following details:
- Site name: Enter a description for the site
- PBX model: Select Cisco UCME - RADIUS
- Method: Select RADIUS Connection
- Client IP: Enter the IP Address of the Cisco UCME
- Secret: Enter a RADIUS authentication secret to allow TIM Plus and UCME to communicate e.g. C1sco. Please note that this will need to be added to your UCME configuration later on
3. Configuring TIM Plus to receive data from UCME
Below you will find steps on how to configure your TIM Plus to receive data from UCME:
- Browse to TIM Plus as normal and login with your credentials.
- Click on the tab.
- Click on the site configured during the setup wizard and click or create a new site and click .
- Within the Site Properties window, select Cisco UCME - RADIUS from the PBX model drop-down list.
- In the Connection method field select RADIUS connection from the drop-down list.
- In the Client IP field enter in the IP Address of the Cisco UCME.
- In the Secret field enter in the password you set during the installation e.g. C1sco.
- To enable data backup, click on the tab.
- Click on the Save a backup of any data received from this PBX tick box.
- Finally, click on the button.
4. Configuring Cisco AXL sync
Below you will find steps on how to configure the Directory Sync from Cisco UCM:
- Browse to TIM Plus as normal and login with your credentials.
- Click on the tab.
- Click on the site configured during the setup wizard and click or create a new site and click .
- Within the Site Properties window, select the tab.
- Click on the Synchronise with the following device tick box.
- In the Host field enter in the IP Address of your UCME.
- In the Username field enter in the username configured in phase 2. Creating Cisco Application User for AXL sync, e.g. TIM_AXL.
- Click on the 2. Creating Cisco Application User for AXL sync, e.g. C1sco, followed by clicking . button and enter the password configured in phase
- Finally, click on the button.
TIM Plus will now connect to the PBX and sync the directory objects.
4. Setting up RADIUS to send call events to TIM Plus
Login to your Cisco UCME / UC500 via telnet, as shown below:
Now just enter the following RADIUS commands:

SysLog configuration for Cisco UCME / UC500
The tasks required to be done are as follows. They are all analysed in details further down this page.
- Downloading and configuring interface file Cisco UCME.zip.
- Configuring TIM Plus to receive data from UCME.
- Configuring Directory Sync.
- Setting up SysLog to send call events to TIM Plus.
1. Downloading and configuring interface file Cisco UCME.zip
- Visit Tri-Line's Portal and download the template file, as shown below:
- Extract the Cisco UCME.zip file to C:\Program Files\Tri-Line\TIM Plus\config folder. Zip file should contain four files, Cisco UCME-RADIUS.TDT, Cisco UCME-Syslog.TDT, Cisco UCME-RADIUS.TDS and Cisco UCME-Syslog.TDS.
2. Configuring TIM Plus to receive data from UCME
Below you will find steps on how to configure TIM Plus to listen for SMDR data from your Cisco UCME / UC500:
- Browse to TIM Plus as normal and login with your credentials.
- Click on the tab.
- Go the the point in the Directory where you need to add the PBX Object and add a PBX with the name 'Cisco UCME'.
- Left-click on it and select .
- From the Cisco UCME - SysLog from the PBX model list and enable the local backup. settings tab select
- In the SysLog connection from the Connection method list. tab select
- In the Client IP field enter in the IP address or Hostname of your Cisco router.
- Finally, click on the button.
3. Configuring Directory Sync
Below you will find steps on how to configure the Directory Sync from UCME / UC500:
- Browse to TIM Plus as normal and login with your credentials.
- Click on the tab.
- Go to the point in the Directory where you need to synchronise and add a new Directory Sync object with an appropriate description e.g. 'Cisco AXL'.
- Left-click on it and select .
- In the Directory type drop-down list select Cisco UCME.
- In the Host name field enter in the IP address or Hostname of your Cisco router.
- In the Username field enter in the username of your choice.
- Click and enter the password used to login to the Cisco UCME / UC500, followed by clicking .
- Finally, click on the button.
4. Setting up SysLog to send call events to TIM Plus
Login to your Cisco UCME / UC500 via telnet, as shown below:
Now just enter the following SysLog commands:
