These instructions help you configure your Mitel 3100 phone system to work with TIM Plus. Contact your system maintainer if you are not familiar with the configuration of your PBX.

Follow the steps below to configure your Mitel 3100 to output SMDR data via a serial connection:

The Mitel 3100 phone system sends SMDR information via a serial connection. To collect the data from the serial port and send it to TIM Plus, you first need to install the NetPBX software. For setup instructions, click on the link below:

Once NetPBX is configured and collecting data, log in to TIM Enterprise and perform the following steps:

You will need to directly connect a serial cable from the Upper Serial Port 1 on the Mitel 3100 to the PC that NetPBX is installed and running on. </td> </tr> <tr> <td class="confluenceTd"><b>Cable configuration</b></td> <td class="confluenceTd">Straight-through. </td> </tr> </tbody> </table> <h2>Configuring your SMDR</h2> <p>Below you will find the steps to configure your Mitel 3100 to output SMDR via a serials connection:</p> <ol> <li>Using an RS-232 cable, connect the printer or PC to the call logging (SMDR) port on the front of the controller.</li> <li>Launch the system tool.</li> <li>Choose <span class="button no_margin">Voice</span> from the selection menu.</li> <li>Click <span class="button no_margin">Management</span>, click <span class="button no_margin">Call Logging</span>, and then click <span class="button no_margin">Change</span>.</li> <li>Set the following parameters:</li> <ul class="content"> <li>Set the <span class="reference">Cost per minute</span> to <span class="keyword">00</span>. This functionality is not supported in NA systems.</li> <li>Set the <span class="reference">Minimum call duration to be recorded</span> to <span class="keyword">00:00:00</span>.</li> <li>Set the <span class="reference">Type of calls</span> to <span class="keyword">All</span> .This should be the default.</li> <li>Set the <span class="reference">Minimum page length</span> to <span class="keyword">1</span>.</li> <li>Enable call logging.</li> </ul> <li>Click <span class="button no_margin">Save</span>.</li> <li>You will need to 'commit' your changes before they take effect.</li> </ol> <h2>Configuring TIM Enterprise</h2> <p>Below you will find steps on how to configure TIM Enterprise to listen for SMDR data from your Mitel 3100:</p> <ol> <li>Browse to TIM Enterprise as normal and login with your credentials.</li> <li>Click on the <span class="button no_margin">Directory</span> tab.</li> <li>Go the the point in the Directory where you need to add the PBX Object and add a PBX with the name 'Mitel 3100'.</li> <li>Left-click on it and select <span class="button no_margin">Properties</span>.</li> <li>From the <span class="button no_margin">General</span> settings tab select <span class="keyword">Mitel 3100</span> from the PBX model list.</li> <img class="screenshot border" src="http://www.tri-line.com/common/img/documentation/tim_enterprise/pbx/mitel_3100_1.png" alt="Mitel 3100" /> <li>In the <span class="button no_margin">Connection</span> tab select <span class="keyword">No connection required</span> from the <span class="reference">Connection method</span> list.</li> <li>Finally, click on the <span class="button no_margin">Save</span> button.</li> <img class="screenshot border" src="http://www.tri-line.com/common/img/documentation/tim_enterprise/pbx/mitel_3100_2.png" alt="Mitel 3100" /> </ol> |
