These instructions should assist in configuring your NEC NEAX to work with TIM Enterprise. If you are not familiar with PBX configuration, please contact your system maintainer.

Connection type | Serial Output or IP: If you have configured the NEC NEAX to send the SMDR information via a serial connection, you will need to directly connect a serial cable from the NEC NEAX to the PC that NetPBX is installed and running on. If the NEC NEAX is configured to send the SMDR information via TCP/IP, the actual installation of TIM Enterprise can be anywhere on the network that the PBX is connected to. The NEC NEAX will need to be configured to output SMDR data via TCP/IP so TIM Enterprise can connect to it. TIM Enterprise will connect to the NEC NEAX on TCP port 2599. |
Cable configuration | Null-mode/Crossover or Straight-through. Please check your NEC NEAX manual. |
IP method | TIM Enterprise will connect to the IP address of your NEC NEAX on a specific TCP port. |
You will need to speak to your system maintainer to enable the SMDR output.
Configuring your Serial connection
Using the CAT (Customer Administration Terminal) in the system-programming mode, enter the following settings:

CM08 | If SMDR for incoming calls is enabled, specify whether it applies to all incoming calls or only to those with Account Codes. Include ANI/Caller ID for incoming calls.
This is required to provide SMDR for incoming calls, even if this feature is enabled by CM13+05 and CM35+49.

Configuring TIM Enterprise
Below you will find steps on how to configure TIM Enterprise to listen for SMDR data from your Aastra BP:
- Browse to TIM Enterprise as normal and login with your credentials.
- Click on the tab.
- Go the the point in the Directory where you need to add the PBX Object and add a PBX with the name 'Aastra BP'.
- Left-click on it and select .
- From the Aastra BP from the PBX model list. settings tab select
- In the No connection required from the Connection method list. tab select
- Finally, click on the button.
