BT Inspiration

These instructions should assist in configuring your BT Inspiration to work with TIM Plus. If you are not familiar with PBX configuration, please contact your system maintainer.

Connection information	Description
Connection type	Serial Output: The BT Inspiration sends SMDR information via a serial connection. The BT Inspiration has a SMDR/V24 port on the base motherboard. The connection itself is RJ11 and you will need to purchase a V24/SMDR module from your system supplier/maintainer.
Cable configuration	Straight-through.

Configuring your SMDR

To receive SMDR information from the BT Inspiration you will need to have a BT SystemPhone. You will need to be familiar with programming via the BT SystemPhone. To enable the SMDR output follow the below steps:

From the programming position, press the phone set up key P and select System programming.
Enter the PIN and select System.
Select Call logging and choose Call logging on.
Press HANDSFREE/MONITOR to finish.

Configuring TIM Plus

Below you will find steps on how to configure TIM Plus to listen for SMDR data from your BT Inspiration:

Browse to TIM Plus as normal and login with your credentials.
Click on the Directory tab.
Click on the site configured during the setup wizard and click Propertiesor create a new site and click Properties.

Within the Site Properties window, select Aastra BP from the PBX model drop-down list.
In the Connection method field select No connection required from the drop-down list.
Finally, click on the Save button.
