Configuring your SMDR output
Follow the steps below to configure your Avaya Norstar to output SMDR data to TIM Plus. You must perform these operations from a system programming phone:
- On your programming phone, press the key, followed by to access the CLI menu.
- Press Printer settings showing the baud rate that the data is sent at. To change this value, select and choose a new baud rate. to display the
- Press Format settings. Ensure this is set to Norstar. to display the
- Press Report settings. Ensure this is set to All. to show
- Press the button to complete the programming steps.
Installing NetPBX
The Avaya Norstar phone system sends SMDR information via a serial connection to the computer running TIM Plus. To collect serial data, you first need to install the NetPBX software. For setup instructions, click on the link below:
Configure TIM Enterprise
These instructions should assist in configuring your Avaya Norstar to work with TIM Enterprise. If you are not familiar with PBX configuration, please contact your system maintainer.

Configuring your CDR
Below you will find instructions on how to configure your Avaya Norstar to output CDR to TIM Enterprise. You will need to do this from a system programming phone:
- On your programming phone, press the key and then to access the CLI menu.
- Press Printer and the current baud rate that the data is sent. If want to change this, select and select the new baud rate. and you will see
- Press Format. Select and set it to Norstar. and you will see
- Press Report. Please leave this as the default which is All. and you will see
- Now press the button as the programming is complete.
Configuring TIM Enterprise
Below you will find steps on how to configure TIM Enterprise to listen for SMDR data from your Avaya Norstar:
- Browse to TIM Enterprise as normal and login with your credentials.
- Click on the tab.
- Go the the point in the Directory where you need to add the PBX Object and add a PBX with the name 'Avaya Norstar'.
- Left-click on it and select .
- From the Avaya Norstar from the PBX model list. settings tab select
- In the No connection required from the Connection method list. tab select
- Finally, click on the button.
